Senior Business Analyst

Georgia Natural Gas (GNG), an operating division of SouthStar Energy Services LLC, markets natural gas to residential, commercial and industrial customers in Georgia on a firm and interruptible basis. The company, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, serves over 550,000 residential and small commercial customers in Georgia and another 500 interruptible customers throughout the Southeast.

We have an excellent opportunity for a person who is an aggressive self starter with phenomenal SQL and process improvement skills. The Senior Business Analyst position is responsible for providing analytical and project support. The job requires synthesizing and incorporating complex data from multiple sources into comprehensive knowledge, actionable insights, and business recommendations.

Some of the primary responsibilities include:

• Developing and analyzing departmental P&L Statements
• Project management ownership and requirements gathering for system implementations
• Return on Investment modeling and analysis
• Development of Key Performance Indicators
• Performing customer profitability and portfolio analysis
• Performing sensitivity analysis for business case support and monthly forecasting scenarios
• Providing assistance in evaluating pricing plans and strategies to maximize profitability

Job Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or information technology and at least four years applicable experience
• Thorough understanding of financial principles such as EBT, discounted cashflow, and ROI
• Excellent SQL ability and proven skills.
• Ability to interpret data, develop hypothesis and assess financial impact on the organization.
• Proven success of organizing, interpreting, and implementing strategies based on data trends and analysis
• Proven success of organizing, interpreting, and implementing strategies based on data trends and analysis
• Proven success of developing new ideas and strategies from data findings.
• Strong Access skills. Must be able to import data, write queries, develop reporting packages, and build user friendly input screens
